Ample Hills Creamery is a Brooklyn-based chain of ice cream shops filled with quirky and decadent creations.
Ample Hills derives its name from Walt Whitman’s poem Crossing Brooklyn Ferry, which speaks of the connectedness of people across time and space…
What is it, then, between us?
What is the count of the scores or hundreds of years between us?
Whatever it is, it avails not-Distance avails not and place avails not. I too lived-Brooklyn of Ample Hills, was mine.
Brian and Jackie opened Ample Hills in Prospect Heights on a sunny spring day in 2011 in hopes of creating a community gathering spot where the ice cream making would take place in view for all to see and the flavors were fun, fresh, creative and inspiring. Some of their signature flavors include Salted Crack Caramel (a salted caramel ice cream with pieces of chocolate covered buttered crackers), Peppermint Pattie (cool peppermint ice cream with homemade peppermint patties), and Sweet As Honey (homemade honeycomb candy in a sweet cream base). All ice cream and most mix-ins are made using the freshest ingredients from start to finish in their shops in Brooklyn.
